Bugleherb (Ajuga) is our go-to when you need a tough, good-looking groundcover. It forms a dense carpet of glossy foliage that chokes out weeds and holds soil in place, then sends up spires of blue flowers in season for a soft, woodland feel. Ajuga tucks beautifully between pavers, under shrubs, or along shady edges where grass struggles. Once established, it needs minimal care beyond an occasional deep watering and a light trim if it wanders too far.
